DOUG DALLER‘S SOUL REVUE ROCKS BURLINGTON

by Joan Masover

Doug Daller‘s Soul Revue Orchestra will “Stop! In The Name of Love” at the beautiful Capitol Theater in Burlington, IA on Saturday, July 28 at 7:30 pm. The citizens of Burlington have spent $3 million restoring this historic art deco theater into a lovely performance venue with fantastic acoustics and sound system. “Not a bad seat in the house,” said a recent concertgoer.

The 23 people on stage will include 4 lead vocalists, 3 LoveTones backup singers, strings, multiple percussions, guitars & keys, 4 horns, and 3 woodwinds. This will be a true Motown “Wall of Sound” experience!

And what would a ‘60s revue be without a go-go dancer? …in the beautiful form of Regine Constant.

You will hear some new material, in addition to familiar rockin’ out tunes and soulful ballads.

The four lead vocalists include Iowa Blues Hall of Fame inductee Steve George, London-trained Adrien Daller, local powerhouse Bonnie Van Buskirk, and Josh Ellinghouse, who’s soloed gospel tunes with the Southeast Iowa Chamber Singers.

LoveTones KT Thauwald, Rebecca Haven Karlson (of the band Haven), and Joan Masover will provide soulful backup harmonies and dazzle you with sequins and choreography.

Former sax player for the Doobie Brothers, BB King, and “just about everyone else” Paul Weddle will play tenor sax.
